Ferguson Random Act of Kindness

WHAT IS FERGUSON RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS (R.A.K.)?

Ferguson Superstore has been serving the Tulsa Metro for over 35 years. We are blessed to have received support, from our community, throughout the years. Since its founding, our company’s leadership has had a vision of being more than a company which sells and services vehicles. From our founder, Tommy Ferguson, to today’s management team, our store is dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. Ferguson Superstore created the “Ferguson Random Act of Kindness” as one way to show our love and respect to our customers. Ferguson Superstore created the “Ferguson Random Act of Kindness,” as a means to allow our team to make a positive impact in our community.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Every Monday, the Ferguson Superstore Management Team gives $50 to a random member of our team. The RAK team-member of the week is entrusted with the money to go out, into our community, and use it to make a difference. The RAK team-member of the week has the liberty to give the money to a person, group, or entity in which they believe will best amplify our efforts to return our love and respect back to our community.

Did a Ferguson team-member recently benefit you with our RAK giving? We’d love for you to share your story!

MARTHA’S STORY

“I was Shopping this morning at Walmart in Glenpool. I live on a fixed income and I was Shopping and buying meat that was on sale. This Young Man approached me and asked if I needed help buying any groceries today. I was shocked and so, Happy. I really needed the 50.00. I am grateful and appreciative of this kind gesture given to me today. Thank you and especially; that young man that helped me today. God Bless you all. Random acts of Kindness saved my Day! ☺️”

JESSE’S STORY

“James Durbin, a representative of Ferguson Kia noticed me paying for fuel with change. My beat up Mote Carlo sure is a thirsty old car. Seeing this he felt moved to grant me this act of kindness and helped me not only put fuel in my vehicle but also grab some milk and soup from the shelf. This simple gesture goes a long way for this disabled veteran just trying to make ends meet after a rough divorce, in a rougher economy. I am moved by this act of kindness, and my hope is softly kindled, knowing that companies like Ferguson Kia do things like this to benefit the down trodden in their own backyard.”

VICTORIA’S STORY

“I work for a local auto parts store here in the Tulsa area. I know that just doing my job and helping find the parts one needs is just a normal day to day thing. I was not expecting to receive a Random Act of Kindness in any form in just being myself. It was a blessing and came when I was needing it most. I love helping people in anyway I can without expecting anything in return and paying it forward when I can. This is such a wonderful thing that can be done for anyone and a great big Thank you to Ferguson for being so selfless, spreading kindness and for making a difference no matter how big or small. Thank You!”

DARIN’S STORY

“I am a street performer here in Tulsa and have been playing in the area of 71st and Memorial for just a little over a year now. All in all, things go well. However, this past week, due to the heat, I was a all, little behind in my weekly goal. On Friday evening right as I was getting ready to pack up and head out a young man approached me and started talking about the random act of kindness and very nicely handed me a $50 bill absolutely made my evening and my week. But what made it even better was to learn that this was an entire program being sponsored by a large corporation. So, kudos to Ferguson for doing such a program I think that that is an important part of the community and I applaud your efforts. Thank you very sincerely.”

THE HUNT FAMILY STORY

“My son and hubby went to Walmart and a nice guy walked up and gave us a card along with $50.00. To see someone just give from there heart is nice. We have been going throw a lot lately. We have our mother living with us and 3 younger children so money is very hard to come by. We are working to save money to fix our house. I have a son with autism and am home schooling; it makes it hard to from home. So, thank you very much for the $50.00 it will buy extra stuff for the little ones at home. Thank you again and please pass the good RAK forward!”

KIRA’S STORY

“I, too, love doing random acts of kindness. When I can, I try to pick up people’s coffee or lunch when in QT. I like doing it at QT just to see their reaction when I say “I’ll get theirs too!” It just makes everyone feel good and it’s such a simple thing to buy an extra drink here and there. With that said….today was a total shock for me….I was shopping last minute in Reasor’s today with my son. I usually don’t shop at Reasor’s because their prices have gone up so much and we are trying to cut grocery costs where we can (really any and all costs!). But, today Jack begged me to go to Reasor’s so he could push around the tiny shopping cart they have for kiddos. Since it was Friday night, I thought we’d get something to grill as a treat for surviving another week of chaos when a woman approached me with a bag. I have to apologize to her because I was a little standoffish at first. It’s been a stressful busy week and I thought it was odd to have someone walking up to me at the meat counter. Ha! Then she told me what she was doing and handed me a $50 bill. I was in complete shock and just burst into tears. I didn’t know what to say and all I could do was hug her. My son even got a little teary eyed and he’s only 5. I can’t believe just $50 made me react that way but it was clearly something I needed at that very moment and I will be forever grateful for it. And to top it off, it’s my birthday so that just made it even more special. Thank you all so much for such a simple act of kindness. I love this mission and I think everyone can benefit from spreading a little joy. THANK YOU!!”

THE RUTLEDGE FAMILY STORY

“I see this happen all the time, and have always paid forward where I can, but never have had it happen to me. I love to give and never even think twice about getting back. This was a true surprise today when a lady and her husband met me at the register today with $50 to help with my groceries and gas. True angels and I’m truly blessed. Tears couldn’t be contained. My family thanks you all!”

Ferguson Superstore team-member, Jordan Guey, met Scott at a local Wal-Mart.

Trey had been on the streets addicted to heroine for 3 years. Trey overcame his battle with heroine; he is now sober! Unfortunately, he has recently been hit by some hard times, due to his health. Trey is an Army veteran. Ferguson’s GM Sales Manager, Shane Ogburn, saw Trey with a sign near 71st and 169, saying he needed shoes. Shane took Trey to Target and, using “Ferguson Random Act of Kindness” funds, helped Trey get some shoes, socks, and other essentials that he was needing.
